Opening Ceremony of state-of-the-art hostel at Technical Training Centre (TTC) held
Karachi, July 4: Opening ceremony of opening ceremony of state-of-the-art hostel at Technical Training Centre (TTC), Daharki, District Ghotki, Sindh was held today in the presence of all the sponsors and partners of TTC.
TTC is a nationally and internationally accredited institution and the first polytechnic institute in Ghotki that offers 3-year diplomas in Chemical and Mechanical skills. Organizations like Engro, Pakistan Chemical & Energy Sector Skills Development Company (PCESSDC), Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), USAID and several other corporations have joined hands together to make this institution sustainable in the long run.
The newly inaugurated boys’ hostel has the capacity to accommodate more than 20 students and has internet and mess facilities for the residents. Total cost of the project is Rs. 12.47 Million, which will be borne by USAID and PCESSDC.
Speaking at the occasion the chief guest Tahir Jawaid – Vice President, Human Resources and Public Affairs of Engro said, “it is imperative that corporate giants come together to form sustainable societies where people have access to choices and opportunities for development. Our purpose of establishing TTC and other vocational training institutions is to create a hub of technical expertise that would result in personnel, as well as national prosperity by giving people from less affluent communities a better chance at life”.
Students and teachers of TTC appreciated the effort and said that TTC has played a great role in raising the living standard of the locals.
