School children celebrate Cultural Day!
Cultural day was celebrated with zeal by Engro’s school children in the Ghotki district. In Katcha, Engro’s 12 adopted schools organized a program to celebrate Sindhi Cultural day. The event took place at Government Boys Elementary School Noor Lakhan and was highly appreciated! Students from the 12 schools gave speeches, sung songs and did short skits for the audience. The program was attended by the Katcha community as well as some from the Pakka community and the Roshni Tarqyati Tanzeem and Education Department also attended the program. The event also gave provided a platform for the local singers of Katcha to showcase their talent.
Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited (EPQL), Engro Foundation and IRC organized a cultural program at EPQL’ adopted schools in December. More than 300 students and 300 community members, including women, participated and enjoyed this event. Government officials also attended the event and the chief guests for the program were Mr Aamir Aslam Admin Manager EPQL and Provincial Ombudsmen Ghotki Mr Ahmad Khan Jamali. The highlight of course were the children who danced, played, sang throughout the day. This event showcased the commendable educational program EPQL has developed for the community.
In Sahara school, cultural day was celebrated by the students who took part in a program where they sung songs and performed for their audience. The event showed the developments which have taken place in Sahara which started in 1987 from a very small project consisting of one room but has now become a commendable institution.
