Technical Training College Commences Vocational Training Courses
Over 160 trainees have begun taking vocational training courses at TTC this quarter. These 6-month courses include classes for carpentry, mechanics, plumbing and UPS/Solar making among others.
The third batch of the Technical Training College (TTC) will soon graduate after taking external exams in May. In addition, work on TTC’s student information and placement software has been completed, which will provide the TTC with a readily accessible databank for each student and alumni for the purpose of tracking placement: through the system, each student’s progress from admission to graduation will be monitored electronically.
In addition, TTC has enrolled 190 students in 9 trades this year alone, having received a grant from NAVTEC for approximately PKR 8 million. The incubation park is also fully functional, having inducted 9 youth in the 3 trades of carpentry, UPS repairs, and fabrication, for the purpose of generating a livelihood through entrepreneurship. Of the 65 graduates from the 2015 Diploma’s in Associate Engineering (DAE) Program, 35 graduates have received employment to date in surrounding industries. Alumni will input their data to the system and provide regular updates of their work life allowing TTC and Engro to evaluate their progress after graduation and make improvements in the future if necessary.
